Design Manager

Constructive Moves are recruiting for an independent, regional house builder who operate across the Southeast of England and are committed to building high-quality homes and building careers. The company have a Design Manager opportunity to join their successful and established Head office in Surrey. As a Design Manager, you will hold a central role within the Design Department, leading the coordination and management of the design process to secure planning approvals for residential developments. What you’ll be doing: – Working closely with land, technical, and external consultant teams to ensure schemes are creatively designed, commercially viable, policy-compliant, and aligned with the company’s quality standards. – Shaping developments from concept through to consent, managing stakeholder engagement with local authorities and consultants to drive projects forward efficiently and effectively. – Balancing design excellence with planning strategy and programme delivery to contribute to the company’s growth pipeline and reputation for delivering high-quality homes. Skills & knowledge required for the role: – Previous experience in the house building industry and held the role of Design Manager or a similar role – Excellent IT skills (good working knowledge of MS Office and Autocad packages) – Knowledge of current building regulations and NHBC requirements – Understanding of the entire planning application process from start to completion – People and team management skills If you are considering the next step in your career at a company that values its employees as much as its projects, we want to hear from you
