Simon Griffin is Head of Economy & Growth – Place Delivery at Surrey County Council. He leads work to unlock economic growth by: addressing the workforce and skills needs of Surrey businesses; and ensuring that education, training and employment opportunities are available to all.
Simon is a senior leader with extensive experience of public service design and delivery in areas such as commissioning, design and transformation, adult social care and education. With an MSc in Public Policy & Management, he specialises in outcomes-led change, often working with partners to deliver shared ambitions.
Since joining in 2009, Simon has held a wide range of leadership roles within Surrey County Council. This includes managing the council’s Strategic Commissioning Team, working with partners to design and deliver community hubs, and developing Surrey’s Multiply strategy. Before local government, Simon worked in education and welfare-to-work.
