Supplier Quality Launch Engineer Woking, Surrey Contract Opportunity | Outside IR35 £34 per hour DOE Automotive | High Performance / Low Volume Manufacturing The Opportunity G&P are currently seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Launch Engineer (SQLE) to support a high-performance automotive programme within a fast-paced, low-volume manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of new vehicle programmes, ensuring supplier readiness, component quality, and launch execution across prototype, pre-production, and SOP phases. You will act as the critical link between suppliers, programme teams, engineering, and manufacturing functions during key launch and build events. Key Responsibilities Lead supplier quality activities throughout NPI and launch phases Manage APQP and PPAP deliverables, ensuring approvals are achieved on time Support prototype and pre-production vehicle builds, resolving part quality concerns quickly and effectively Drive structured Root Cause Analysis activities using 8D methodologies and implement robust corrective actions Implement, manage, and validate containment activities during critical build phases Assess supplier readiness, including process capability, production capacity, and quality control measures Identify, track, and escalate risks impacting quality, delivery, timing, or programme milestones Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Programme teams Provide clear and structured reporting on launch status, open concerns, and mitigation plans Candidate Profile We are ideally looking for candidates with a minimum of 37 years experience within Supplier Quality or Launch Quality environments in Automotive manufacturing. Essential Experience: Proven background within Supplier Quality / SQA / SQE roles Direct experience supporting NPI and launch programmes Strong understanding of: APQP / PPAP FMEA / Control Plans 8D / Root Cause Analysis Understanding of manufacturing processes such as: Machining Composites Assembly Strong stakeholder management and supplier-facing communication skills Ability to work within fast-paced programme environments and manage multiple priorities Key Attributes Results-driven mindset with the ability to work under demanding programme timelines Hands-on and proactive approach to issue resolution Strong communication, escalation, and reporting capability Able to balance technical detail with overall programme delivery focus Comfortable operating within high-performance, low-volume automotive manufacturing environments If you are an experienced Supplier Quality professional looking to support cutting-edge automotive programmes within a premium manufacturing environment, we would be keen to speak with you.
