Airworthiness Engineer

Airworthiness Engineer (Contract) Location: Surrey, UK (Hybrid) ✛ This role is being managed exclusively by HYTE on a retained basis ✛ Direct applications and discreet enquiries are welcomed. ✛ Overview ✛ HYTE is supporting the appointment of a dedicated Airworthiness Engineer (Contract) for a specialist aerospace engineering organisation. This is a senior contract role for an experienced airworthiness professional capable of operating autonomously, providing assurance and guidance across regulated aerospace and defence programmes. The successful contractor will act as the go-to airworthiness specialist, supporting engineering activity with clear, pragmatic, and credible guidance. ✛ Key Responsibilities ✛ Act as the airworthiness authority across relevant engineering programmes Provide guidance on certification, compliance, and assurance activities Support design, development, and review from an airworthiness perspective Interface with engineering and programme stakeholders Ensure alignment with applicable airworthiness frameworks and standards ✛ Candidate Profile ✛ Proven experience as an Airworthiness Engineer within aerospace or defence Strong understanding of UK military or regulated aviation frameworks Confident operating as a standalone specialist contractor SC clearance or eligibility ✛ Take your career to new HYTEs ✛ Senior, specialist contract role with real authority Clear remit and respected technical position Opportunity to work with a capable, well-run engineering team Hybrid working based near Dorking, Surrey Engagement focused on expertise, assurance, and judgement
